Reiki

What is Reiki?
A gentle, hands-on energy practice designed to ease tension, calm a busy mind, and bring you back into balance. The word comes from Japanese: rei, meaning universal, and ki, meaning life force — that quiet energy running through every one of us. Reiki is rooted in the belief that through light touch, that energy is gently supported and rebalanced— encouraging deep relaxation and creating the conditions your body needs to rest, heal, and repair itself naturally.

Do I need to believe in it for it to work?
Not at all — just an open mind and a willingness to receive.

What does it feel like?
Honestly, it’s different for everyone. Some people feel warmth, a gentle tingling, or a soft pulse where my hands rest. Others drift off to sleep. Some notice emotions rising up. There’s no right or wrong way to experience it.

What should I wear?
Something comfortable and loose — you’ll stay fully clothed.

How should I prepare?
Eat lightly, stay hydrated, and arrive as you are.

What happens afterwards?
Drink water and be gentle with yourself. Some feel deeply relaxed, others energised — occasional tiredness or emotion the day after is normal and passes.

How many sessions will I need?
One session alone can be genuinely sufficient — sometimes that’s all you need, or we can build a course together over time.

Can I have reiki if I’m pregnant or have a health condition?
Reiki is gentle and non-invasive, and is generally considered safe alongside most health conditions and treatments. Just mention anything relevant on your intake form, and we’ll talk it through before your session. Reiki is a complementary practice, not a replacement for medical care.

What’s the opening meditation for?
I offer a short, guided meditation to help you arrive and settle before we begin. It’s a gentle bridge between your busy day and the stillness of the session, so by the time we begin, you’re already somewhere calmer.

What’s the difference between reiki and massage?
Reiki uses only light touch — no pressure on muscles or tissue. It works with your energy, not your physical body directly.

Yoga Nidra

What is Yoga Nidra?
Sometimes called yogic sleep, Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that takes you to the threshold between waking and sleeping. Unlike regular meditation, it asks nothing of you except to lie down and listen — gently guiding your nervous system into a state of deep rest most of us rarely reach, even in sleep.

Do I need to have done yoga before?
Not at all. There’s no movement, no flexibility, and no prior experience needed — you simply lie down, close your eyes, and follow my voice.

What does it feel like?
Most people drift into a deeply relaxed state, somewhere between waking and sleeping. Your body might feel heavy, your thoughts might slow right down, and there’s often a real sense of stillness. Some people notice vivid imagery or gentle emotions surfacing; others just feel deeply, quietly rested. Whatever you experience is exactly right.

Is it the same as sleep?
Not quite. Your awareness stays gently present throughout, even as your body sinks into deep rest — your body gets the rest it needs, while your mind stays open and receptive.

How is it different from regular meditation?
Regular meditation often asks you to focus on something — your breath, a mantra, a point of awareness. Yoga Nidra asks nothing of you except to receive. No effort, no concentrating, no getting it right. It might just be the most effortless practice there is.

How will I feel afterwards?
Most people feel properly restored — not just rested, but recalibrated. Clearer, lighter, more like themselves, often unfolding further over the hours and days that follow.

Is Yoga Nidra suitable for everyone?
It’s gentle and accessible for almost everyone. If you have any health conditions or anything you’re unsure about, just mention it when you book, and we’ll talk it through.

Sound Bath

What is a sound bath?
A sound bath is an immersive sound experience where you lie down, fully clothed, and let yourself be bathed in the sounds and vibrations of crystal singing bowls, Himalayan bowls, chimes and other gentle instruments. There’s nothing to do — you simply receive.

Do I need any experience?
None at all. Whether this is your first time or your fiftieth, you’re equally welcome. There’s nothing to learn, and nothing to get right.

What should I bring?
Mats, beds, pillows, eye masks and blankets are all provided. Just bring yourself, and wear something comfortable. You may like to bring a water bottle.

What might I experience?
It’s different for everyone. Some people feel the vibrations physically — warmth, tingling, a gentle pulsing. Some drift in and out of sleep. Some feel emotions rising quietly to the surface. You might simply feel a stillness you’ve never quite felt before. You might not feel much at all, and that’s fine too — whatever you experience is exactly right for you.

Is sound healing suitable for everyone?
It’s gentle and non-invasive. Because sound baths use crystal singing bowls and other resonant instruments, please get in touch beforehand if you have a pacemaker, heart condition, epilepsy, sound sensitivities, or are unsure — we’ll talk through what’s right for you. If you’re pregnant, let me know so I can advise on any adjustments.

Do I need to share?
Not at all — there’s no sharing circle, no need to talk, just the sound and a beautiful Yoga Nidra to melt your stress and relax your body. Stay afterwards for tea, cake, and a chat if you’d like, or slip away quietly — completely up to you.

Can I come on my own?
Absolutely — you’re just as welcome solo as you are with a friend. Come simply for the sound and time to yourself, with no obligation to chat or connect, or stay after for tea and cake and see who you meet — some of the loveliest connections start with someone arriving solo. Whatever you’re after, you’re welcome exactly as you are.

What if I am late?
Please arrive 5 minutes early for a smooth experience. The session will start promptly at the time stated when booking, and for the comfort of the group, latecomers cannot be admitted once we’ve begun.
